Can we bring our well mannered dog (or cat)?
Sorry. Out of respect for all of our guests, we do not allow for pets in our suites. As we are never aware of allergies etc., we can not accept pets of any kind, size, or behavioural tendancies.
What is the weather like in La Penita?

Are there good restaurants nearby?
Yes; there are plenty of great restaurants to eat at within minutes from the Casita. We will be pleased to provide you a variety of recommendations upon your arrival.

Can we buy food and cook it for ourselves?
Absolutely. La Penita has several grocery stores within a 5 minute walk to the main street. All of our suites include the amenties needed to cook for yourself as well as 2 stainless steel BBQ's which include propane for all our guests to use.
How far are you located from the beach?
We are beachfront. Just in front of our property there is a great beach which is a safe for swimming. Our guests (aged 4 - 84) have enjoyed hours of suntanning and swimming.
Can we drink the water in La Penita?
While the water is not bad, we recommend drinking bottled water. The Casita sells 20 litre bottles of water and all the restaurants use purified ice / water for their clients.
Are there any fun activities for my family?
There are many different ways to enjoy La Penita and the surrouding area. Arrange a day trip to swim with dolphins, go ziplining near Sayulita, fish for 4 hours, boat to the island and snorkel, visit nearby beaches, or shop at the La Penita market every Thursday! Lots to do!

Should we rent a car? Is there parking for us?
Car rentals are not necessary for enjoy a few weeks in La Penita. There are lots of places which can be visited by walking or short (and inexpensive) taxi rides. We can help you arrange tours to nearby areas with or without an english speaking guide also! Should you choose to rent a car, parking is out front of our property on the road. Of course, The Casita is not responsible for cars while they are parked in front.
Is there snorkelling nearby?
The best way to snorkel around La Penita is to take a short boat ride to the island (which is part of the great view from our property). Equipment can be rented to snorkel around the beach and island area!
Will the grocery stores be open when I arrive?
Many of the grocery stores in La Penita stay open unil 10:00pm or 11:00pm.
Can we have cold drinks awaiting our arrival?
Beverages such as pop, beer, and wine, among others, can be ordered via email before your arrival. We will be sure to have your order ready and cold for your arrival!
Is Rincon de Guayabitos walking distance?
Rincon de Guayabitos is walking distance. It takes about 15 minutes from The Casita and can be a great way to spend any afternoon. The walk can include traversing a small estuary or crossing a hanging bridge.
Is the beach safe for swimming?
Yes. Our beach is very safe, has a nice sandy bottom, and while the waves can be great for boogy boarding, are not typically dangerously large for good swimmers. Our guests (aged 4 - 84) have enjoyed hours of suntanning and swimming a stones throw from the property.
